American Corner Pristina and U.S Embassy Pristina, Kosovo are pleased to invite you for a presentation and discussion session with elite marathoner and ultra marathoner, Michael Wardian, on Thursday, May 11th at 17:00 in the Main Auditorium of the National Library of Kosovo.
Michael, an accomplished athlete, in addition to a lengthy list of podium finishes at marathons, half-marathons, has set world records for the fastest marathon. 2016 was an incredible year with a 47 events and multiple wins and records including setting the fastest ever time for all the Abbott World Marathon Majors consisting of the Tokyo Marathon, Boston Marathon, London Marathon, Berlin Marathon, Chicago Marathon, New York Marathon in an average time of 2:31:09. In March 2015, he also set the World Record for the fastest 50K on a treadmill. Despite working full time, being married and raising two kids, the 40 year old runner finds time to push the limits of human endurance constantly. Excuses are not in his vocabulary.
This time, Michael will be in Kosovo to participate at the Balkan Marathon. One of his aims is also to promote gender equality and women’s rights in sports.
