Light a Candle Against Violence!

Say NO to violence, come to the National Library attend a speech, and light a candle to shine a light on domestic violence!

This event is part of the Campaign – Stop the Silence: Speak Up, Speak Out! It aims to shed light on the devastating effects of domestic violence and our unified commitment to make every home a safe home.

Domestic Violence (also called domestic abuse) is not just physical; it can be emotional, verbal, financial, sexual etc. and one can even be “gas lighted” (meaning: one is convinced by her/his significant other that she/he is crazy!!) And the injuries may NOT even be visible!!

The color purple used in this campaign is drawn from the purple ribbon, a traditional symbol of domestic violence awareness and remembrance.

“Love does not hurt, and domestic violence is NOT love!”
