The first module of “Fashion and Sewing” course covered the basics of fashion design and was very helpful to the eleven women who participated. Therefore, we are holding another “Fashion and Sewing” course that will expand upon the techniques covered in the first module. This course will be for participants who already have foundational fashion design knowledge and will cover more advanced techniques and skills. Providing participants with more advanced knowledge of fashion design will improve their chances of employment in this sector. It will be open to the women who participated in the first module as well as the general public.

This module will equip participants with more specialized skills for modeling, cutting, sewing, and creating patterns for different types of garments. Throughout this course, participants will:

  • Prepare work tools, select raw materials, and take physical measurements;
  • Learn technical drawing and sketching skills for creating different garments as well as creating patterns;
  • Create different styles of garments.

Goal(s): By providing participants with specialized skills in sewing and fashion design, this course aims to help participants increase their prospects of employment, thus supporting the U.S. Embassy’s goal of Economic Development.
