American Corner Pristina has been hosting writing workshops to help participants develop their written English communication skills. During these workshops, participants have been learning about different writing forms and techniques and have the opportunity to practice these skills themselves. American Corner Pristina will mark International Democracy Day with a themed writing workshop where participants will learn how to write persuasive and convincing articles, op-eds, and/or letters to officials about issues that they are passionate about. Participants will get to improve their written English language skills while learning about the importance of advocacy in democracy.

Goal(s): This workshop will encourage participants to be active citizens and use their voice to support causes that they care about thus supporting the U.S. Embassy’s goal of Rule of Law. As this workshop will be conducted in English and help participants develop their critical thinking and writing skills, it also supports the Embassy’s Economic Development goal and OAS’s English Language Teaching and Learning programming.
