Millions of people are affected by domestic violence regardless of age, race, gender, culture, etc!!

Domestic Violence (also called domestic abuse) is not just physical; it can be emotional, verbal, financial, sexual etc. and you can even be “gas lighted” (meaning: you are convinced by your significant other that you are crazy!!)

To mark October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we are organizing the campaign “Stop the Silence: Speak Up, Speak Out!” under the aim to promote advocacy against domestic violence, to raise awareness on this pervasive issue with a focus on the problem of violence against women and to empower women to use their voice against this phenomenon.

Amongst other activities of this campaign, it will also consist of an exhibition comprised of messages that will be written by campaign visitors, a pledge wall for visitors to leave their handprints to express their objection towards this issue, display of last year participants’ messages, statistics on domestic violence in Kosova, pictures/posters/paintings created by the audience with the theme “Women Empowerment”, and allocated places for this years’ campaign attendees to write their messages against domestic violence.

This exhibition will remain in the hall of the National Library of Kosova for two days.

Voice your objection!
