The aim of this project is to provide English classes through informal activities to students of the primary school “Xhemail Mustafa”. The classes will be held twice a week where the students will learn through activities that is hands-on activities and games. The benefits that the students will get through these classes are English skills, development of critical and creative thinking skills and team working skills. The classes will comprise of English language games, films, technology activities, activities that promote the American culture etc. Also, 8th graders will be taught the critical thinking skills to evaluate the content that they so readily receive online on a daily basis. They will be introduced to fake news, given top tips for spotting fake news, difference between fact and fiction, the power of image, and identify how language structures and presentation contribute to meaning through reading materials. Furthermore, they will be taught how to evaluate texts by seeking evidence in order to support a point of view, to distinguish between statements that are supported by evidence and the ones that are not, and to identify bias and misuse of evidence. The classes will be student-centered classes and will take place twice a week that makes the total of 10 classes. The students will be selected by taking an English language test. The target audience will be 6th and 8th graders.

The duration of this project will be one month and a half with this school.

All the activities will be held in English, so students that will participate will benefit simultaneously in two fields.
