Marissa Polnerow worked in U.S. Embassies in Colombia, Nepal, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Morocco before beginning her assignment in Kosovo in 2020. Before entering the Foreign Service, Marissa was a Peace Corps volunteer from 2007-2009 in North Macedonia, where she headed non-pro organizations promoting entrepreneurship and youth development. Marissa speaks French, Spanish, Macedonian, and Nepali. She earned her Bachelors in Political Science and French from City University of New York–Hunter College, and her Master in International Affairs from Columbia University.
