For the third year in a row, American Corner Pristina is organizing the yearly campaign, which this year is called #1Thing. The aim of the campaign remains the same, to raise awareness on domestic violence and its forms as well as to teach young participants how they can seek support/report it, but the activities vary each year. This has been a prevalent issue for years, but especially this year as the statistics of domestic violence victims rose especially during the COVID-19 crisis when the restrictions were imposed to keep the virus from spreading all over the world – including Kosovo. The activities, which will be implemented under the framework of this campaign are as following:

– Four workshops – target audience: high schoolers and young adults

– Online campaign through social media posts throughout the month of October which will include, among other things, posts with questions with the hashtag #1Thing and how everyone can be an active bystander to prevent/end domestic violence.

– Two videos, as thus we can reach a bigger audience online on #1Thing that participants of the video can do to prevent/end domestic violence.

This year’s theme (#1Thing) and some of the materials to be used in the campaign are created and published by National Resource Center on Domestic Violence (NRCDV) on VAWnet website.

This campaign will be launched on October 1st and will run until the end of October.
